Moved by the precarious condition in which the pardhi community people lived in Yavatmal city, a few sensitive young minds decided to do something for this community. This is how Deendayal Seva Pratishthan came into existence in the year 1997. After frequenting their hamlets,  it was decided to start with educating the children. Vivekanand Chhatravas, a hostel facility in Yavatmal  was started.

Deendayal Seva Pratishthan is a voluntary association registered as a  society and a public trust. Inspired by the Antyodaya concept proposed by Late Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya a philosopher and thinker, Pratishthan works for helping the people suffering most from various problems; like pardhi and other tribal communities, female members of the farmers’ families whose spouse has committed suicide due to agricultural distress and  for farmers by addressing the causes which lead them to suicide. Presently  our activities are mostly in Yavatmal and Washim districts of Maharashtra State. We have established a state of the art research and training facility ‘Deendayal Prabodhini’ at a picturesque site at Nilona near Yavatmal city.

Implementation of various development projects benefiting the needy is possible because of generous  support extended by hundreds of individuals and a few  organizations both inland and abroad. We have reached out to and impacted more than 10000 families through our different implemented projects
